The human body is utilized as a screen or canvas to reflect and display the images made, as well as those appropriated for this purpose. The images consist of a wide range of subjects from floral, plant and animal forms to text, landscapes, and art. The body is writ upon with light, an incandescent moment, fringed with the anticipation of desire to reveal what is obscured by this tapestry of light. The photons reveal a topography sometimes puzzling, often haunting and at times frightening.
These are The Projections, a body of work that was initiated around 1994 and that has been evolving ever since. The images are made using a projector to project images onto the bodies of my subjects.
